A lot of you love to do that through Instagram, DMS, or messaging me on social media apps.
That is okay, but I would love it. If you would go the easy route and go to intentional, edit.com a little gray record. Now button pops up. You click that record now button, and then you leave a message. leave a voicemail. All you have to do is talk. Tell me your struggles and ask a question or just tell me what is happening.
What is the struggle? What is wrong? What do you want fixed? And I will answer it on a future tip. Tip Tuesday episode, we will come up with a game plan and I’ll give you some solutions so that you can put an end to that problem in that issue in your own home. It’s super simple. There is a link in the podcast description, wherever you’re listening to this, you can scroll down and click on that link to ask me a question, or just simply go to intentional, [00:02:00] edit.com and click on the record.
Now button that pops up. It’ll pop up. Whether you do this on a computer or on your phone. And it either pops up on the side or the bottom. It says record. Now you just click on that and leave me a message so that I can help you get unstuck and answer your questions to help you move towards a simplified home.
On this episode, we are going to answer a question. the question of the day is. We are stuck on getting our home organized because we start and never finish, or the kids and husband come along and ruin everything. And anything that I have worked on or made progress on there has to be a better way, but I don’t have the motivation to do it when it’s ruined in less than a day after I finish it all. And it seems easier.
To live with the mess. Then do it all over again. great question. Great struggle. There really isn’t a question there. It’s just the overall frustration and what’s happening. So that’s what I mean, when I say you don’t even have to ask a question, just give me your frustration and what’s happening in the home with the mess, with the clutter and all of that.
And in this situation, She feels stuck. She’s frustrated. She’s irritated. She doesn’t seem to be getting much help from everyone else, but there are some things that need to happen plain and simple. This situation is happening, or I could say you are where you are because of choices that have already been made. You’re not getting anywhere because the progress is lacking. All the steps to keep the home organized are not in place.
If you are a longtime listener, you know what I’m going to say? There are three steps to a simplified home. If you want your home to stay organized and orderly and picked up and have less stress and simplify everything, you have to do three [00:04:00] things. One, you have to remove the excess. That would be the decluttering component two.
You have to organize and you have to organize properly by following tried and true systems that work for home organization and three. You have to set up and implement systems and routines that make sense for your individual family, for how you want your home to function. These are the things that keep the organization in check. So remember, one is decluttering. Two is organizing and three is setting up at implementing those routines
all of those three things work together. If you declutter and you clean and you feel like you’re doing this over and over again. And you are doing these tasks. You’re doing the de-cluttering, you’re cleaning one area, one cabinet, one counter space, one room, whatever that looks like. You don’t have the organization for the thing, is that stay in your home?
Or it would stay organized. So what’s happening is you’re spitting at the time. Decluttering. But you haven’t set up the organization for the thing is to stay organized in your home when you don’t take the time to create the routines. Those are teens are what keeps things organized. And the clutter from creeping back in
the routines make it so the piles will not build again. And. prevent the mess from showing up over and over again, if you try to get organized or you have removed clutter, but it’s back again, you have attempted something. You tried it, you attempted it and failed because you didn’t follow a proven plan. Like the simplified home masterclass from intentional edit.
And you didn’t have the steps you needed for success. It’s a very simple, you have two options, one take action or two, you can stay stuck. What do you want to do? Do you want to stay in that stuck place? Or do you want to take action? If you stay stuck? That means you [00:06:00] stay on this hamster wheel. That is the same situation that keeps happening over and over again, you stay in the overwhelmed home. It’s frustrating to you. It’s overwhelming to you. You’re overwhelmed by all the stuff you have to manage and deal with daily.
Think about the life you want to be living, how you want your home to function. What does that look like? How do you really want your your home to function? How do you want it to feel? How do you want it to look? Your home should be an antidote have stress, not the stressor. Your home should not be adding to your stress right now. Take a minute.
And make that decision to take ownership of your thinking, your thoughts. Take ownership and really think about. What are you thinking? What is your thought process? Take this minute. Own it. How are you thinking and what are the actions needed to move forward to that life and that home that you desire?
When we’re in the stuck place, because we have failed before we’ve repeatedly failed. We’re doing the same process. The excuses are easy. The excuses come easy and we stay with those limiting beliefs we think. What we want will never happen. We act like we’re destined to be stuck in this mediocre place. When the reality is we have to choose to make the decisions and we have to decide we are going to take action to finally do better because we want to move toward organized and a simplified home. That is what we truly want. It’s very possible to have a house like this and to feel good in our homes.
It’s. More than possible to keep your home picked up an orderly without spending hours on it every single week, the decluttering. The organizing. And the systems and routines that I’m always talking about, all of those work together to make this happen. Stop resisting. And finally take this time, let [00:08:00] this podcast be what changes your mindset and finally empower yourself to do better. Do what you need to do to finally take action.
And not just do a little tasks here and there that aren’t really moving the needle. This is not going to be easy. The first thing that came to my mind is I was going to tell you, this may not be easy, but the truth is it’s not going to be easy. It does take effort. This process will take effort. It will take work on your part, but in the end it saves you a significant amount of time and it makes your life easier.
Removing the clutter and living in an organized home reduces stress. It helps you be more efficient. It eliminates a lot of those anxious, overwhelmed feelings that are a constant right now. When we really break it down, it comes down to a couple of things. And here’s what it is. You can stay in this stuck place where it’s filled with excuses.
Or you can finally take action.
