It’s pretty common first starting or beginning something is to be the most difficult part of the process. Just getting yourself going is hard. Having a good thorough plan to follow is the key to follow through and the success that will take you from the beginning to the end. But where does that initiative to start actually come from and what can you do to get yourself going and to begin this new project in the first place

It is a tip Tuesday episode. And that means I am answering a question from a listener. Just like you. If you have a question, if you are stuck, if you don’t know where to begin, if something is keeping you from getting to. The purging and the organizing of your home. And creating those routines with intention that simplify every aspect of your home and truly organize it.

Then you need a to ask or questions or share what your struggle is so that I can help you and we can solve some of the struggles that you’re having. All you have to do to submit your question is go to intentional, edit.com. And click on that little record now button that pops up, you click on the button and leave me a message.

With your question. It is super simple. I will use your question as a topic for a future tip Tuesday episode, and you will get the answers [00:02:00] that you are looking for. So go to intentional, edit right now and ask the question and that is holding you back or let me know why you can’t get started, what you’re struggling with, what the area or the room in your houses that you can’t organize.

Do you need product recommendations? What do you need to be successful on? On this journey to simplicity. Ask your question@intentionaledit.com. By clicking that record now button. The listener submitted question over the day, is this one I’m going to read it to you. It says, what do you suggest when our home needs to be organized? And we talk about going through things and donating.

But we never get around to doing it. Ooh, I love this. I love when these are brutally honest, let’s dive into this. This person who’s saying, we talk about going through things. We talk about donating the stuff that we don’t want anymore. We know our house seems to be organized and we wanted it to be organized.

But we’re just not getting around to doing it. And that’s where we inter the hardest part. The most difficult part was so many thing is whether you are trying a new diet, you want to start a new workout plan. You want to push yourself to do something that is uncomfortable or that you have been scared or hesitating to do whatever change you are making.

That takes effort and starting is often the hardest part where to start, how to start, what to do first. A lot of people want to know the answer to that question. Some of the most common questions I get are how do, how to do this, how to start doing this, where do I start? What should I actually do first?

And I have addressed this on a couple of podcasts episodes. So there’s a lot of tactical information in those episodes that can help you. [00:04:00] So listen. To episode 128 and episode 91. Both of those will be extremely helpful. If you find yourself in a situation where you are struggling to start the process of removing the clutter or to start organizing. So go listen to episode 1 28 and 91 of the intentional edit podcast. And those will be really helpful for you.

This question is a little bit different than some of the other ones about where to start or figuring out what to do to even begin this whole process, because she is admitting that the decluttering and the organizing needs to be done. They’re well aware. The house is cluttered. They need to remove the clutter.

And then after that, it still has to be organized. Sometimes people have the mindset that if they could just remove the clutter, everything will be so much better. And you have to follow the three steps that are addressed in detail in the simplified home masterclass. And that is the de-cluttering happens first.

Then the organizing has to happen and you have to set up routines in your life and have good systems in place. So that the work that you put in the organization. We’ll stay and the clutter doesn’t come back and with those routines brings simplicity. It gives you more minutes in your day and overall, it just makes the way that your home function better. And it truly makes all of these tasks and chores and daily responsibilities significantly easier. And it makes them take so much less time for if you’re interested and getting all the information, everything you need to declutter, organize and come up with those.

Those routines and truly simplify, then go to the link in the podcast description and sign up for the simplified home at masterclass. Stop putting it off, get it start and spend the next few months or even the next [00:06:00] year, ruthlessly decluttering and organizing your home. Getting those routines into effect.

So that you can finally have this simplified life and bring more peace to your home and your family. And make everything easier. Oh, in this situation, it is a stuck, stagnant place to be. There is a lack of action. There’s not any action taking place. It’s not going on. Nothing is happening.

I love the honesty and the fact that there aren’t any excuses. she left the cold hard facts because excuses like I don’t have enough time. I don’t know what to do. I’m too tired. All of those are just reasons that are really excuses because when something is important, you can find the time to do it.

Even if it’s little chunks of time here or there, we find time for the thing is that we really want. And if you want to make a change, you have to change things in your life. You have to change the way you’re currently doing things. So here we have the truth, plain and simple. This family is in a situation where they need to declutter. They need to organize, and they just aren’t getting around to starting the purging.

They’re not. Getting rid of the unwanted items. And they already know that they have things in their home that they don’t use. They don’t want anymore. And if they never do that step, then the house can never be organized. They will never get to the organizing that organization. Part of this can never happen if they don’t start with the decluttering.

So what should this family do? If you’re in a similar situation, what should you do first? Check your attitude. And a lie the way that you’re thinking. Aligner desire for the inner goal of a clutter-free organized home with the actions that need to happen to get there. I said it a minute ago, [00:08:00] you have to change what you are currently doing. If you want to get a different result.

You have to do the work. If you don’t know the plan, sign up for the simplified home masterclass. Or any clutter or course and follow the plan it’s so that you can be assured to have success, follow this, these proven plans so that you can get The results you want. If you put in the work and you follow the instructions and the program, and you schedule the time, you need to complete these tasks into your calendar.

You will not miss an appointment, treat the decluttering and the organizing sessions treat them as if they were an important appointment that was on your calendar. Figure out a reasonable time for you to work on these projects. It might be once a week, it might be a few hours, or it could even be two to four times a week for just 15 to 20 minutes each session.

It doesn’t really matter. As long as you are spending some time. Then you are moving the needle. The more time you have, of course, the quicker you will get results, but anything is better than nothing. So schedule it and put it in your planner. You can even set a timer for when the time column is to make sure that you are doing the projects at the designated time.

Don’t pick up the phone during this time, don’t start scrolling. Don’t get sidetracked, stay focused on the decluttering project to the entire time. And when that timer goes off. you go about your day and you return to the project at the next scheduled time. If you aren’t. Putting in the effort now, and you’re simply being lazy about doing the decluttering and not making this happen. Schedule it. That is something that can be a big game changer. You schedule it, you put it in your calendar, your planner treat it like an important appointment. If you wouldn’t miss an appointment that you had made a commitment who do not miss this.

If [00:10:00] you go to the gym all the time and you have a regimented quality workout routine that you do four or five, six days a week. And you have that time and you wouldn’t miss it because it is important to you. You value that and you feel good when you make that happen. I treat this decluttering time. The same way, schedule these things, put it on the calendar, make it a priority when the time comes, just do it. Don’t think about it. Don’t make excuses. What gets scheduled gets done.

Right now, I want you to look at your calendar and plug in to different times where you can start the decluttering process. And once the decluttering is done, you continue on by plugging it into your calendar with the organizing. But remember you have to purge and declutter and remove all of the excess.

You’re getting the stuff out of there before you ever start organizing the sooner that you start, the sooner you get to live with the numerous benefits. Let’s have less clutter, less chaos, and you will find yourself any more organized home. If i can help you with a question that you have about getting organized go to intentional edit.com. right now click on the record now button and leave the question for me i will answer it for you on a future tip tuesday episode thank you so much for being here i’ll meet you back here later in the week for another episode of the intentional edit podcast
