When I shared my morning smoothies on Instagram I received questions about how I prep them ahead of time. This post explains the premade smoothie bags that simplify my mornings.
I always have frozen berries in the freezer for snacks and shakes so whenever I have spinach and/or kale that I know won’t be consumed before it goes bad I make “smoothie bags”. Smoothie bags are simply fruit and kale and/or spinach packaged in individual bags that I keep in the freezer to easily grab for breakfast in the mornings.
To make smoothie bags of your own all you need are berries (fresh or frozen), spinach and/or kale and snack size ziplock bags.
Measure 1 cup of the greens, 1/2 cup of berries and seal them in the bag.
I have one drawer in the freezer where I keep all of mine together. Toss the bags in the freezer and you will be ready to quickly make a smoothie whenever you desire.
On mornings that I’m going to make a smoothie I put a little water in the Vitamix and empty 1 bag on top of the water.
I always add Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides and depending on the day some supplements from Sun Potion.
Lastly I add 1/2 cup Almond Milk, blend and enjoy a healthy and tasty smoothie for breakfast.
Here is little video of the process from my stories.
